JAFESS strictly aligns its ethical standards with the international guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
For any empirical research involving human participants (such as social science surveys, field interviews, or behavioral focus groups):
Authors conducting research involving human subjects must obtain written, informed consent from all participants prior to data collection. Compliance statements confirming that participation was voluntary, confidential, and informed must be transparently detailed within the manuscript.
In cases where written consent is not feasible or would compromise participant anonymity (such as anonymous online surveys), authors must explicitly state within the manuscript that an IRB or ethics committee approved a waiver of written consent, and that consent was implied by virtue of completing the task.
As JAFESS primarily publishes research in accounting, finance, economics, and social sciences, studies involving live animal subjects are outside the journal's scope. However, should any interdisciplinary study touch upon animal data, strict adherence to national and international animal welfare laws and ethical approvals is mandatory.
