Journal History

The Journal of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Social Sciences (JAFESS) originated from the Faculty Publication Forum (FPF), an institutional initiative established at CamEd Business School in 2016 to build an institutional research culture, foster academic discourse, and showcase faculty research output. Between 2016 and 2020, the FPF served as an internal platform for scholarly sharing. In 2020—to expand its academic scope, establish rigorous peer-review standards, reach an international research audience, and align with CamEd's long-term vision of driving societal impact through research—the publication was subsequently rebranded and formally established as an independent scholarly journal named JAFESS. Coinciding with its rebranding in 2020, JAFESS was granted its official International Standard Serial Numbers for both Print (ISSN: 2708-616X) and Online (ISSN: 2708-6178) editions by the ISSN International Centre.

Initially, from 2020 to early 2022, JAFESS exclusively published its content in print format. In late 2022, the journal transitioned to digital publishing using a WordPress-based platform. To enhance editorial workflows and align with global publishing infrastructure, the journal migrated to Open Journal Systems (OJS 3.3.0.16) in early 2024. Coinciding with this OJS migration, JAFESS formally attained official Crossref Member status and began assigning Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to all newly published articles as well as retroactively for its catalog. In early 2026, the platform was further upgraded to OJS 3.4.0.10. Since its rebranding, JAFESS has operated with its own strategic direction and governance framework, while the FPF continues its separate mission within the institution.
