While traditional research has often focused on the technical and normative aspects of these topics, this special issue aims to provide a platform for more critical, interpretive, and dialogical scholarship.

We invite papers that:

  • Critique and re-examine how governance and performance are measured and understood in different contexts.
  • Employ qualitative and interpretive methods to analyze financial practices, economic policies, or social institutions.
  • Investigate the social and ethical dimensions of economic and financial systems.
  • Engage in dialogical research that brings together multiple perspectives on an issue (e.g., from policymakers, practitioners, and affected communities).

This special issue seeks to challenge the status quo and foster a richer, more nuanced conversation about these central topics.
